Trifluralin 48% EC Pre-emergent Herbicide – Bulk Supply for Agricultural Weed Control

Trifluralin is a selective pre-emergent herbicide widely used to control annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. Ideal for use in row crops, vegetables, fruit orchards, ornamentals, and other cultivated areas, it is applied before weed seeds germinate, providing long-lasting soil protection.

By inhibiting root development in weed seedlings, Trifluralin prevents establishment, reducing competition for nutrients, moisture, and sunlight.

Application Instructions

How to Apply Trifluralin Herbicide:

  • Apply pre-emergence directly to soil.

  • Ensure even coverage with 100–400 L water/ha at 200–300 kPa pressure.

  • Incorporate into soil immediately using tillage or irrigation.

  • Avoid overlaps and over-application to reduce risk of crop injury.

Application Rates by Crop:

Crop Type Soil Organic Matter Recommended Rate Notes
Soybeans, Cotton Up to 5% 1.0–1.5 L/ha Incorporate immediately after application
Vegetables Light–medium soils 0.8–1.2 L/ha Pre-emergent application; adjust based on soil
Fruit Orchards All soils 1.5–2.5 L/ha Directed spray or soil incorporation
Cereals (e.g. Barley) Light (up to 4%) 1.25–1.7 L/ha Incorporate 14 days before planting
Heavy (5–8%) Up to 2.5 L/ha Drill seeds at least 5cm below treated layer

Mode of Action

Trifluralin belongs to the dinitroaniline class of herbicides. It prevents cell division in root meristems, disrupting early weed development. Weed seedlings absorb it through the roots, causing stunted growth or death before emergence. Soil incorporation is critical for effective action.

Tank Mix Compatibility

Trifluralin can be safely mixed with other herbicides for improved efficacy:

  • Trifluralin + Glyphosate: Combines pre- and post-emergent control.

  • Trifluralin + Metolachlor: Powerful against annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in row crops.
